ABOUT
We’re here to share our secrets. And in doing that, we’ll let you into the biggest secret of them all –
dealing with the media and appearing on camera doesn’t have to be scary.

Between us, we’ve lost count of the years of media experience we each have, but usefully, it’s all in different disciplines. Radio and print media, TV, film-making, and conference work, both in-person and virtual, we’ve got every base covered.

THE TEAM
The Media Training Academy is a collaboration between broadcaster and journalist Nicky Marr and the production team at DP Digital Media. In spite of these fresh faced photos its not just the years we've lost count of its the number of interviews we've done and films we've produced between us.
We want to share that experience with you and turn the camera into an ally for you and your business or organisation.

Nicky Marr
After 13 years of live radio on MFR breakfast, Nicky has interviewed them all. And as contributor on Radio Scotland, she knows how it feels to be on the receiving end.

She’s written and edited for Highland News and Media for 20+ years, hosted countless conferences, both live and virtual, across numerous sectors across Scotland, and is a Coach and Presentation Skills trainer too. In Nicky’s view, clear communication all comes down to three things.

-
Who is your audience?
-
What are you going to tell them?
-
How will they best digest that news?
Allan Crook
The Head of Production at DP Digital Media, Allan has extensive experience at all stages of the production process.
He is equally comfortable self-shooting and with acting as Director of Photography (DoP) or Director with larger crews; and often appears on the other side of the camera as a presenter or
voice-over artist.
He has directed shoots involving over 100 participants and a crew of 8, but is equally at home putting a nervous interviewee at their ease on camera.
Ian Forsyth
With many years experience running a consultancy and advice business, for the past 10 years Ian has developed DP Digital Media into a successful film and video production company.

Over the years he has interviewed countless people across politics, media and business. Covering subjects as diverse as the future of renewables to the post match reactions of footballers.

The one piece of advice Ian always offers people before they go on camera is to be themselves and let their personality shine through. Never try to be something or someone you are not.
